GEPS Tutoring

GEPS provides a variety of tutoring options depending on the student’s needs and situation. We provide traditional tutoring wherein students are provided additional help and resources on subjects they are struggling with. We also provide long-term educational assistance wherein a tutor is assigned a student over the course of their semester or year to oversee their progress. The tutor helps the student stay on track and provide any ancillary educational assistance they might need.

We also provide crash courses on specific subjects or topics students might need for an upcoming examination and/or projects. These will help you progress faster than typical tutoring classes because we cater to your educational needs. GEPS can help you prepare for any of the test you can take with use, such as TOEFL, ITEP, Pearson Vue, CBEST, CSET, CAMLA, CLEP, DSST, GRE, MCAT, and many more.

We understand that English is a difficult language to master. We also understand how Americans communicate in an office setting, in research facilities, in a classroom environment, and much more.

How It Works

GEPS traditionally provides these tutoring sessions in person, one on one, with additional tele-tutoring via email, phone, or video conference. We find that this model is most amenable to student success. We have, in the past, provided other tutoring setups depending on the coinciding needs of students.

The tutoring takes place in two locations, depending on the students’ situation. Traditionally we provide these tutoring sessions in our office where students will have the comfort of having our office resources as well as the privacy and tranquility we can provide. Alternatively, we have held tutoring sessions on campus, in libraries, or at cafes depending on the students’ current situation, but ideally, we have them in the office.

How Long Is The Session?

This is pre-arranged and differs from student to student. Typically we assess the approximate number of hours per week the student may require, and leave it up to the tutor and student to meet these hours according to the student’s schedule. This may translate to having an hour-long in-person session every day with additional tele-tutoring, or reducing the frequency while increasing the longevity of each session. These hours typically go up as the student’s workload increases, especially during mid-term and final seasons.
